Emma - Canvast - What It Means To Be A Woman

In light of International Women’s Day this Sunday the 8th of March, I’ve asked some of the amazing women in my life to share what it’s like to be woman.

I’ll be highlighting a variety of women from different backgrounds, careers and beliefs to bring you a selection of just how awesome being a woman is.

Planning by day and fighting crime by night...Emma is a force to be reckoned with. This Girl Boss is one who I've looked up to for some time now. Emma the founder of Canvast - a dateless planner, meaning you can stop and start your planner whenever you want. Not only does she run Canvast, she is also a fully fledged copper *ahem* Police Officer - now you can't tell me that's not bad ass! 

What makes you feel empowered about being a woman?

I feel empowered as a woman because I’ve created my own success. I haven’t waited for someone to hand it to me. Having done the work makes me feel confident that I know what I’m doing and won’t be told otherwise.

What has been your most proudest moment in your life? Whether that be in your career or personal life.

My proudest moments are always ongoing. Becoming a police officer, I’m proud of myself for being resilient and doing the work I do. And I’m constantly proud of Canvast and creating a product that has impacted and helped so many other women achieve incredible things is something I’m also really proud of.

Why is it so important for women to support each other?

Because we are SO MUCH more powerful as a collective than we are alone. I dunno about anyone else, but I’d rather cheer about a woman’s success than spend my energy trying to tear her down.

What's your go-to self care to feel like a queen?

I love getting massages and facials and really just soaking into that experience. I also think it’s important to reward your hard work, so buying yourself something nice you’ve avoided buying makes me feel like the ultimate queen *que Beyoncé* 💃🏽
